While I don't recommend paying more than $40 or $50
for this book compiled by copywriting uber-mensch
Lewis, it's as good as the other 2 or 3 books in the
category.

Buy the ones you can get by Hatch and Hodgeson,
and pick this one up someday.

There's a book by Harlan Kilstein of his own internet
sales letters that is pretty good and another one
called "Hall of Fame" published by AWAI that can
be had for very little money. All mentioned books
are swipe-files for good sales letters.

The five pages listed in chapter two contain sales/writing wisdom that will save you decades of "grief" and massively increase your income. The 446 pages after that are a literal smorgasbord of writing ideas and techniques - a literal swipe file - that you can extract out, modify as appropriate and put to work for your own benefit.

It's as simple as this. I've spent thousands of dollars for the "big name" copywriters programs. This book will give you a better education and better examples than many of their programs will.

It uses work by Frank Stech who has applied Turner's theory to a past case.

About the Author
Dr Mike Lauder MBE has worked in risk management for the last 30 years. He is now an independent researcher and a visiting fellow at Cranfield School of Management, where he undertook his doctorate studying risk governance and the process, outcomes, effectiveness and efficacy of public inquiries. He has a wide range of experience in this field covering his time in the military and as a consultant. He has practical experience of risk management as a military engineer, including work in bomb disposal and as a security specialist. He has worked in both construction and procurement project management and has wider experience of logistic operations and corporate financial planning. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and has published in Risk Management Professional, the magazine of The Institute of Risk Management.

A management tool for generating foresight

Dr. Mike Lauder's new book is fascinating. He revives an earlier work by B.A. Turner, extending Turner's thinking and developing a tool that executives and risk managers can use to anticipate possible future disasters (think BP's Deepwater Horizon explosion - $61.6B as of July 14, 2016 according to BP's own statement or the flooding of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power station - close to $100B cost to Japanese taxpayers according to the Financial Times, March 6, 2016).

Drawing on Turner's Disaster Incubation Theory, his own earlier work and other works in the field (by Cohen and Gooch, for example), Mike Lauder develops the Catalytic Cube, a three-dimensional framework useful in developing foresight. He then illustrates its use in the instance of the time period between the Six-Day War and the Yom Kippur War between Israel and it's neighbors. Dr. Lauder shows how decisions made during that more than six year period reduced Israel's war readiness. He illustrates how updated thinking, using the Catalytic Cube as a guide, may have helped Israel avoid mistakes of dysfunctional organizational momentum, the Plowman Effect (unintended adverse consequences of plans in place), practical drift (efficacy of standards and precautions reduced over time as the environment changes) and structural secrecy (important groups not effectively communicating with each other).

Can we avoid the next big disaster? Maybe. Mike Lauder shows us a way.

This comic is fun!

OK... just to give some background, Battle of the Planets was a 1970's translation/adaptation of a Japanese cartoon called Science Ninja Team Gatchaman. It took out a lot of the violence, whitewashed the Japanese names with American ones and added a cute robot.

This book is called Battle of the Planets and uses the American names but is much closer to the original Japanese Gatchaman than the American adaptation.

Under the art direction (and gorgeous covers) of Gatchaman fan Alex Ross and published by Top Cow studios, this book updates the original series adding more back-story and details while keeping the campy styles and 70s designs fans fondly remember. This is a black and white reproduction (there were also full-sized, full color reprints) but seems to have been shot from the inked pages, they do not have the muddy B&W that marred some of Top Cow's other B&W books.

There are some odd choices; it reprints issues 1-9 and a special focusing on one character. But the special is placed right in the middle of a storyline and interrupts the flow and continuity. Putting it at the end would have made the book much more coherent.

But you get lots of science ninja action and it gave me warm fuzzy memories of the original show. So if you like Battle of the Planets/gatchaman/G-Force/Eagle Riders etc you'll like this take on them.

This is a really good read, my only complaint is when a black background was used in some of the word balloons. It really made it hard to read without a flashlight, but still if you love g-force/gatchaman/battle of the planets, buy this book

OUTSTANDING!!!

This was an outstanding read. Especially coming from someone like me. I usually don't read novels or fiction. I usually read teaching or inspirational how-to books, autobiographies or history.
A friend recommended this book and I took my time in ordering it, but when it came, I couldn't put it down. Even though it was fiction, it stirred up my faith. The writer drew me in the way all the different characters were tied together. It reminded me of how the Lord worked out certain situations in my life and how He can do it again. It had just enough scripture to show Biblical relevance to everyday life but not so much as to be "preachy".
I believe this book can appeal to believer and unbeliever alike. Therefore, I'd recommend it to anyone.

Right on Time

I know I should not be surprised anymore at how God is always on time.... But here He goes again. This book came right on time... At a point in my life where I had more questions than answers, more downs than ups, and more needs than I could fill. But God! This book, though presented as fiction, can happen to any of us at any time. It was relatable, real, and so very encouraging. It made me laugh, cry, and rejoice. This book spoke life to me. God has a way of opening our eyes and answering our prayers (questions) in the subtlest of ways... Heaven Can Wait - A must read!!

The Power of God is always amazing!

Reading this book reminded me of my own life, and how at every turn and corner when my mind wanted to think that I was alone in this world, God proved time and time again that this was not the case. What God has planned for us may not always be crystal clear, and doubts will surely try to weasel their way in, but when we truly trust in God, we will find that everything EVERYTHING will work out better than we could have hoped or expected – and that is exactly what "Heaven Can Wait" showed me.

Learning to play again at the age of 59+

Folks,

I started playing - or at least trying when I was in the third grade. I didn't play much beyond two more years due to lousy instructors and even lousier music picks. Life passed on, and finally, I came upon these books. I purchased all three of this series and started out fresh. I've now been playing (self taught) for about 5 months. Yes, I still stumble and make it sound bad from time to time, but these books have given me the confidence that if I practice and practice, I can sound great. Other people have listened to me play, and they just cannot believe what they are hearing.

I even bought the entire series for my 81 yr old mother to start playing again with. I guess that pretty much sums it up.

BTW, if you change it up some, "Little Brown Jug" can become "My Ding-A-Ling"!

Self Study piano learning

Really like this book, already got the second in the series for when I finish the first. If you want to learn piano, and you are a busy person, this is the way to go. I like that the book also discusses a bit of music theory. There are instructions on how to write music, how to read music, and how to play. Really really excellent. The only thing to remember is that if you don't have a piano teacher beside you you can be messing up your technique unwittingly, so if that is an issue self study would probably not be for you. LOVE IT!!

A Super book and /dvd

If I could I would give this book 10 stars, I played piano and organ about 30 years ago and just recently at the age of 93 revived my music, bought an organ and later an electric piano. The organ and I got along very well, but the piano was a different story. After trying many "how to books" I purchased this book. Wow! What a difference - my piano and I are now good friends and I have learned so much from this book and DVD and I am still learning. I have been thru the book twice and still find other things to learn, If you are a budding pianist, and want to learn without a teacher I highly recommend this book. All of Alfred's book are good.

Thus, advances in the rapidity and accuracy of pathological diagnosis have often led to changes in clinical management and, recently, improvements in clinical diagnosis, particularly CT scanning, have brought about a change in emphasis in the practice of neuropathology. In this textbook we have sought to present a widely based account of neuropathology in combination with information from clinical experience. We chose this approach in order to emphasize the close interrelation between clinician and pathologist. The book grew out of a course organised jointly by two neurologists and two neuropathologists from the Depart� ments of Neuropathology and Neurology of The London Hospital and The University of Southampton. It is hoped that the book will be useful not only to pathologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, and neuroradiologists, but also to general physicians. In a period of rapid advance in knowledge it is important to recognise how changes in the clinical and laboratory disciplines overlap. In order to make the most of consultations with pathologist colleagues the clinician must know what skills and techniques are available in the laboratory, and similarly, the pathologist must keep abreast of changes in clinical practice. In the past the clinician and pathologist have often been slow to appreciate advances in each other's fields.
