If you want to know to how draw dynamic action poses for making a comic books than this book is highly recommended. It doesn't show anatomy drawing you must get a separate book for that. Overall this gives you proper insight to draw comics with dynamic features included a major example are fight scenes which are really cool. There are many cool looking sketches that can really catch your interest and some useful guides and techniques to help with you draw.

Love it. Lee G. breaks everything down simply and gives clear concise examples. There is no anatomy in this book, but I did not buy it for anatomy. I bought it for form and help in getting started step by step. Anatomy comes later when you start to flesh in. I would HIGHLY recommend this book

Gr 6–9—This thorough encyclopedia of the Bigfoot legend offers hundreds of alphabetically arranged entries on all things Bigfoot, including specific legends from different locations, sightings stories, movies, theories, and related phenomena. Black-and-white images of storytellers and sites are featured throughout, and the book has a clean layout with sidebars. However, while the entries are well ordered and clear, there is no set structure in terms of naming or topic division. Entries on films, for instance, are named for the given movie, while other sections are named for the location where a sighting was reported. Other entries are items of interest (such as "Dogs and Bigfoot"), but there is no way to categorize these subjects and separate them out. In addition, the point of view of the encyclopedia lacks consistency: some entries are written in an academic style (though with no citations), while others read like personal stories (some even suggesting that Bigfoot is not only real, but also a danger to the general public). Informative Overview of Bigfoot Lore

A excellent, encyclopedic collection of information about Bigfoot and his relatives, certain to be informative to all but the most knowledgeable. There are, of course, the expected accounts about Jacko, the yeti, the links to proto-humans, UFOs and Bigfoot, and the Russian almasty captured in WWII. However, there are also aspects I was not as familiar with including numerous reports of Bigfoot shot at but showing no signs of being hit, reports linking Bigfoot with maintaining shelter in cave systems, and apparent Bigfoot shelters found in the woods (something Les Stroud, Survivorman, discussed in his Bigfoot-hunting TV special). The encyclopedic format and liberal use of photos aids readability, and provides a broad overview of the topic. Makes me want to go hunting for Bigfoot in the nearby Shawnee National Forest of Southern Illinois, a Bigfoot hangout I've been told (farmers frequently report seeing them walking across their fields near the distant treeline frequently). Highly recommended.

I also liked the matter-of-fact writing style of Redfern

Although controversial, this is undoubtably an intriguing topic. I thought I'd heard about everything related to Sasquatch but Redfern expands the genre to include description of a variety of similar hominid sightings. Many of these I had never heard of, including the Almasty of Russia, Batutut of Borneo, and Yowie of Australia. I especially appreciated the encyclopedic nature of the book as it can be used to quickly, alphabetically locate information. I also liked the matter-of-fact writing style of Redfern. I can recommend this book.

Recommended and exhaustive compendium which is not afraid to court controversy!

Nick Redfern has taken a great volume of information and put it together into a compendium that is fairly complete. The author gives brief overviews not only of American reports, but gives a truly international feel by showcasing reports out of South America, Australia, Asia, Europe and even his home country of England, a lot of which I was unaware of and most likely was written about in Nick's other Bigfoot books focusing on Anomalous Primates of the British Isles. I do have to caution though, that the author is not prone to shy away from the more fantastical elements reported by some witnesses, such as the alleged connection to UFOs, strange disappearances by these creatures, hominids which seem to be impervious to gunfire and cases where the creatures seemed to be not entirely substantial but are described in terms of a witness attempting to hit the creature, but the object used goes right through the creature(!) Whether you agree with or believe those more fantastical elements or not is irrelevant because the author has included those bits of controversy into this excellent volume with no prejudice or editing. I truly enjoyed this book, and do recommend it to those who may not know a great deal about this subject or for that person (like me) who just loves to read about these mystery creatures. I give this one a solid 9 stars. Excellent all the way around!

A must for studying the Greek Language

This is a good way to look at two different translations and the original text all in one book. It helps you to see how the original text was written and how it was translated into our English language. It has been a big help for bringing out the true meaning in my sermons.

For those who want the KJV, NIV, Greek AND interlinear

The idea is good--for those who want an interlinear Greek text with a literal translation and two of the most widely used translations, this is it. The interlinear portion, however, is often difficult to read because of the extremely small print (particularly regarding the numbers that indicate word order), and the binding is completely falling apart.

This book is too bulky for easy use. I recently saw an old edition of Marshall's interlinear with just the KJV beside it on the same page, and the book was MUCH more compact. Those who want a KJV-NIV parallel should find another edition, and those who want a Greek interlinear should find that--having them both in the same book, while it may be useful to some, to me seems pointless and results in a product that is unnecessarily difficult to use.

Alfred Marshall has VERY few translator's notes; several more would have been welcome.

This book was given to me, so there were no misrepresentations or similar disappointments.

I've Used this Magic Bean Liquid (Aquafaba) for almost 2 Years - Pictures and Info Below - and this Book is FANTASTIC!

I have been using aquafaba (the liquid from a can of chickpeas or other bean) since Goose first started writing about it (he and I are friends on Facebook, and part of some of the same veg*n groups on Facebook). So, I've been using aquafaba for well over a year and a half.

Two things that I want to say right up front: This is an amazing discovery not only for vegans, but for *anybody* who can't eat eggs. And this is *not* like *any* other egg 'substitute' out there. It is *JUST LIKE EGG WHITES*!!!

And secondly, NO! It does *NOT* taste like beans! In fact, I've shocked people who eat my meringue cookies, and my meringue pies, when I tell them what it's made from.

*YOU CANNOT TELL THE DIFFERENCE!!*

All it takes is one time of whipping this liquid in your mixer into an *identical* substance as whipped egg whites to turn any non-believer into a believer.

I'm including pictures of the aquafaba whipped in my Kitchenaid, and then both meringue cookies, and a vegan meringue pumpkin pie that I made for Thanksgiving last year. (Easy peasy - get the vegan pumpkin pie from Whole Foods, whip up some aquafaba meringue, spread it over the pie, and bake!)

While there are tons of great resources online and in the Facebook group (search for the 'Aquafaba (AKA the original "Vegan Meringue - Hits and Misses!" ' group)), what has been missing has been a proper aquafaba cookbook!

So THANK YOU, Zsu Dever, for writing this (and kudos for having Goose write the forward!)

Now, all this said, Zsu didn't just slap together any old book and get it up online in order to be among the first, like *some* 'cookbook' authors do (I'm looking at you, Instant Pot book and Air Fryer book authors).

No, *this* book is an *incredibly* well-done book in its own right!

The pictures are gorgeous, the binding is very professional.

But above all, the *information*, and the *recipes* are WONDERFUL!!

Yes, you truly can make egg-free meringue, vegan 'butter', egg-free vegan mayonnaise, and so many other treats with the liquid from the lowly bean!

And what do I do with the chickpeas after getting the aquafaba out of the can? I salt and season them and throw them in the dehydrator - they make a wonderful, crunchy snack!

By the way, you *can* make your own aquafaba if you don't want to use canned chickpeas, but I find having these "egg whites" sitting in the pantry for whenever I need them so very convenient.

I am 4 recipes into this book and they are great. I had no idea that liquid from beans could do this. I have bought other books from this author and I have never been disappointed. If you are vegan and like to cook then you have to have this knowledge.

Great book with lots of varied and intriguing recipes as well as old favorites.

I have eagerly awaited this book. I knew nothing of the online groups but the idea of using bean water for these purposes was fascinating. I am not vegan or vegetarian but often cook such recipes, and am a very experienced cook.

It surprised me that a number of esoteric ingredients are required. Here's a list of them:

Xanthan gum
Psyllium powder
Kombu
Cream of tartar
Lactic acid
Nutritional yeast

I can't wait to try the recipes. They look fascinating. There's everything from nougat, waffles, vegan cheese, "meatballs", both Swedish and Italian, matzo brei, various pies, portobello schnitzel, marshmallow crime and fudge. There are even a number of recipes for chickpeas that I can't wait to try. You see you need to cook chickpeas to make the bean water. It's great to have ways to use them too.

The bottom line, this is a great book with lots of intriguing recipes. Just be aware you need some unusual ingredients, although maybe they aren't unusual to you.

A great set of the Fey, gorgeous images, insightful sage advice....a grand oracle for the soul.

I have to say I very much enjoy and am enchanted with this set!

I have over 200 Tarot and Oracle decks and this one is a top fave. The art is so rich and colourful. Just looking at it gives one a sense of peace and calm. The cards are failrly large and the printing quality is wonderful, the colours are vivid, deep, rich and very evocative. I adore the backs! The quality of the cardstock could have been better though, but I've certainly seen worse cardstock in oracles. It's not THAT bad. The cards will hold up fine as long as you treat your deck with respect and love (as you should treat them anyways) and not be rough and careless with them.

The book I was very plesantly surprised with. I wasn't sure what to expect, but Nancy Brown has done a fantastic job imo. Each image is married wonderfully to the text in the book. She gifts you with some great wisdom, advice, humor and things to meditate and contemplate on everyday. I really like the 'prayer' at the bottom of each card description. Some card meanings are longer and more detailed than others, but they are all very evocative and full of sage advice. The book itself is very pretty, a smaller size hardback, much easier to tote around.

I use this deck almost daily and I have so many favourite cards! The Shaman, Night Light, Birth of Magic, Discovery, Green Faery, The Oldest Fairy, Fey (top fave!), Moon Dragon, The Doormouse, Something Wild, Moon Secrets, The Source of Magic, Believe, Dandelion, Autumn and Lighting the Way! I draw a card or cards for inspiration, serenity and some wise thoughts throughout my day. They've been a warm and enchanting friend for some time.

These cards and book doesn't just feel like any old oracle, they feel very special and bonded to me. Alive. They talk right back to me!

The packaging IS very gorgeous as others have stated. Stunning really. I tend to toss boring or so-so deck boxes, but this one is a definate keeper. I never put the deck and book back in it though, these cards are never far from me, usually in my bag : ).

If you love faery and the fey, you will LOVE this set, no doubt about it. This set isn't meant as a divination or fortune-telling deck. It's inspirational and a deck that's a 'friend' to you when your down, just stuck or very happy! I believe the Fey are truly alive in these cards and that energy and light can't help but escape into your life and heart. Do get them, they'll add magic and wonder to the mundane.

Not a Tarot Deck - and doesn't pretend to be one

If you open this pretty package hoping for a tarot deck, you will be disappoitned. It is NOT a Tarot deck, and in fact, the title of it does not claim that it is -however, it is sold as a tarot deck in some stores and I think this is why some purchasers are unhappy with it.I read the box - the Faery Wisdom deck, and the seller at the store I was in explained that they are a wisdom deck, more of a deck for daily meditation and thought than for "tarot readings". With that as my expectation, I was delighted with what I found when i opened the box.

Nancy Brown has written some beautiful, insightful, and thought provoking descriptions and meditations, each with a chant, and a little note from the fairies and illustrated by Amy Browns marvelous fairy art.
The book is a real, hardback book not a tiny little thing tucked into the card box, and following the instructions there I cleared the cards and attuned them to me. the first card I pulled was "Home" - and it made me feel that the cards were happy to be part of my home and my practice. In the past week I've shuffled and drawn a daily card for meditation, and found them are right on track with what is going on in my head.

I also got the hubby involved. he is a much tougher sell than I am, more literal in mind, more grounded (my beloved little stick in the mud). he has found them as wise, profound, and delightful as I. If he has one complaint, and I must echo it, it is that the card stock they are printed on is very light and flimsy. He is concerned that, particularily with daily use, they will soon begin to show wear and tear. I agree, but only partially. You see, with the mild arthritis in my hands, I find this lighter card stock much easier to handle and shuffle than many of the tarot decks.

If you are really worried about harming the cards, you could always shuffle them the way I do some of my tarot decks, by spreading them in a pile on the floor and "stirring" with your hands - then using your left hand "feel" which card(s) you should chose.

In conclusion - I love the cards and enjoy them. I think anyone who is really into the fey would enjoy them, if not for the wisdom, then purely for the illustrations. and it goes without saying that anyone who is a fan of Amy Brown's art is going to love them.

You know, just as a sort of P.S., I once bought a tarot deck with dragon illustrations. It was a nice deck to look at, with many wonderful dragon paintings, but it seemed to me that it had no feel at all for the tarot, for the wisdom of the tarot, or for the meanings of the cards - they were just pretty dragons that did follow a theme of color or type for each suit but really had no "real" connection to the tarot. I was so disappointed, that in the end, I just gave them away without ever doing a reading with them. That deck really was, to me, all about the art.

It is important to remember with any wisdom, meditation, or divination tool that it is going to have to resonate with you personally. Some will, some won't. I think it has more to do with the individuality within all of us, than the deck itself. BlessedbeSummer

Beautiful!!

I love the artwork on these cards. Amy Brown is truly gifted. The facial expressions alone, on all the characters, are very explanatory. The instruction booklet goes so well with each card and the messages convey wisdom in a very positive way. I'm not a fan of gloom and doom and I think it's much more important to view and honor our light and dark sides on a positive note. It's not easy sometimes, but so necessary for growth. Thanks Amy Brown!

Extra Features make this a winner

We got this book in the early 90s...it still works! And guess what, there are even BONUS features! If you press all of the buttons at once (ex, accidentally stepping on the book...LOL), you get a whole myriad of other songs played, such as Yankee Doodle, Kookaburra Song, Boom Boom Diddum Daddum Waddum Chew, etc...it's hilarious!

My Kids LOVE this book. It plays traditional Christmas songs with NO BRANDING! The illustrations are charming and although the music is a tad "tinny" it does not get on your nerves.

Fun Christmas Book!!!

This is such a cute book and the fact that I don't really know the majority of the Christmas songs here is fine too. I had to get new batteries for it when it came and was nervous at first because the old batteries had corroded inside the battery compartment. Took a little work to clean it up but thankfully the new button cell batteries work and the music sounds great! Fun way for kids to learn to sing Christmas songs!

Elizabeth Goudge was born in Somerset, England, in 1900. A Rich World of Childhood Enchantment

I first read this enchanting book as a child, and over the years have read it many more times with my daughters. Linnets & Valerians is a magnificent story about the adventuring spirit of childhood and the restorative power of the natural world. In a lush, appealing, way it presents the empowering advantages of higher learning and the great moral value of living an honest and kind life. Linnets and Valerians is also a deeply romantic story about the mystery of family lost and family found. From the first reading I thought this book would one day stand next to J. M. Barrie's Peter Pan and Aurther Ransom's Swallows and Amazons series. And while I found Harry Potter a delightful read, that recent best seller certainly pales next to the world of Goudges's Linnets & Valerians; a place in which good relationships between children and adults foster the growth of those children into wise and responsible adults themselves. I own one copy of this book but had hoped to obtain newer copies for my daughters when they were grown. I have found, to my grief, that this book is out of print. I would love to see Linnets & Valerians rediscovered in my library as Aurther Ransome has been, thanks largely to new paperback edtions with appealing cover illustrations. With the many glowing reviews on this site, won't some publisher consider re-issuing this book soon!

Most wonderful story ever!

There is nothing about this book that does not recommend it! A well-crafted story, satisfying mystery with magical elements that are simply charming. Goudge transports the reader into the believable world of a small Victorian British village and it's beautiful surroundings as viewed from the perspectives of the four children who fall into this delightful adventure laced with wonder and magic. Main characters who can be trusted and loved, villians who are complex enough to be interesting and not stereotypical, and a story to be read again and again. I have given this book to every child I know and each has loved reading it. Now and then, I go back and read it myself!

A friend of mine recommended this to me because I am a hobby beekeeper. Beekeeper or not, you can easily see why this author is one of J. K. Rowlings favorites. The strong influence is obvious. Classic characters and plot, wonderfully crafted, one can also see where Disney picked up a few characters as well. If you like well written British children's fantasy works and fairy-tales, this is one that I couldn't recommend enough. A sweet story of mystery, history, witchcraft, honeybees, brave children and two fascinating adults whose fondness for each other has built an intriguing bridge between the spiritual traditions of the present with those of the past.

From beginning to end of this book,I found myself emotinally connected with the ideas of self-help being expressed by Mr Akil.This author simply and amply offered rhyme and reason for looking at where your feet are planted and where they may need to be.I felt as if he were speaking directly to my soul and I commend his efforts at enlightening a cultural cummunity adjusting their eyes to the dark.Engaging religious and political aspects, Mr Akil not so elequently(the truth is not always elequent) sets the stage for black power and motivation.A wake-up call for the black man and woman.A definate must read for anyone interested in furthering their mental and physical position in life.Reclaiming your crown and glory takes more than one book, but this is a good push in the right direction.Dont take my word for it, please read the book for yourself.

About the Author
Rapoport attended public schools in Chicago. He studied music in Chicago and later in Vienna, where he graduated from the State Academy of Music with a degree in composition, piano and conducting. He received his Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Chicago in 1941.

The starting point book for learning game theory

If you want to learn the underlying foundations of game theory, and do not want anything over-technical or under-technical in its explanation and description, then this is a good book to consider. Most introductory game theory books usually plunge you into the math immediately and the remaining few use very little of it and focus on the qualitative aspects. If you're looking for a book that can both teach you game theory and the math behind it, but assumes all you know is the math you know or remember was from high school, then Two-Person Game Theory is what you've been looking for. This book begins essentially with no usage of mathematical jargon whatsoever and slowly works in the math a little more each chapter. By the last third of the book, there is substantial use of math in each chapter, but by then it is understandable because of this slowly increasing dosage you've been exposed to while reading. In any case, the mathematical background requirements of the reader is minimal. For most of the book all you will encounter are basic concepts of probability, with some simple algebra and a few instances of calculus used in the later chapters, though these parts aren't integral for overall understanding if you're just getting into game theory. However, the author also provides a verbal account for the rationale and underlying logic for every mathematical equation and representation he introduces. Overall, this is an excellent introductory book, especially if you're intimidated by math but still want to learn about game theory and the math behind it.

A concise, colorful and illuminating introduction to two-players Game Theory

Definitely a must reading if you are interested in game theory, conflict resolution or behavioral science. This very enjoyable book is full of interesting and colorful examples to illustrate each covered topic.

Rapoport combines an interesting and rare mix of skills: a mathematical expertise, an extensive and deep knowledge of behavioral science and an amenable writing style. The result is little-great book that knits together work in decision-making, psychology, strategic thinking and pure game theory. In this remarkable and illuminating text the relevant concepts are introduced in a very clear way. In the last chapter the author offers a critical review assessing strong and weaknesses of Game Theory for purposes of modeling human behavior and situations characterized by conflicts of interest. The main conclusion is a remarkable one: the great value of game theory is in its power to reveal its own incompleteness.

This book is very good at explaining the mathematical aspects of two-person game theory, but it is very poor in its explanation of the theory. For those who are more interested in the theoretical aspect of GT, there are better books in the market than this one.
